the guy on the left (Larenz Tate) plays the character Ford Lincoln Mercury, from the movie The Postman

He assumed the name from the sign in the background of the photo, because he wanted to be a race car driver... that is, until he was inspired by Keving Costner's character, the Postman, and then he grew the postal service in a post apocolyptic world of the American North West
